uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows featuring a very small footprint. It features an easy-to-use interface which is divided into the list of torrents and extensive details like peer data, download and upload speeds, file pieces and blocks, or a graph of your current speeds. It enables the user to set labels to your individual downloads and helps view the torrents whether they are downloading, completed, active or inactive. Version 1.8.1 of uTorrent is a bug-fixing release which detects IPv4 external IP from Te-redo address when inactive peers get disconnected.
The software has an added option to enable or disable internal tracker, while detecting the encoding field in a torrent and analyse file names accordingly. It also supports crash dumps on pre-WinXp and sorts downloads based on the label. uTorrent comprises of most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT. It offers configurable bandwidth schedule and customizable search bar and icons, with a unicode support that utilizes embedded Unicode support for Windows 95/98/ME, avoiding the need for the Microsoft Layer for Unicode which is several times the size of uTorrent. It also provides UPnP support for all versions of Windows.
Operating systems that are compatible with 32-bit versions are – Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5; while the 64-bit versions support Windows Vista x64 and Windows XP x64. It supports a file size of 263.8 KB.
