Lockitron app is an excellent one wherein your door can be unlocked or locked from your mobile phone instantly. It operates by sending a signal from your phone to Lockitron servers, via your internet router, thereby enabling you to lock or unlock the door. The Lockitron app is highly compatible with most advance lock systems and can be installed through the Lockitron Self-Install Kit for your through-hole deadbolt, door knob or door handle.
The Lockitron Deadbolt Door knob / handle is compatible with several types of locks which can be used by self-installed kits which includes a Lockitron base-station, USB remote fob, door knob/handle unit, Power cable, Ethernet cable etc. The Lockitron base-station then plugs into a wired Ethernet connection, followed by the plugging in of USB remote fob into Lockitron base-station. The lock and unlock commands are then sent to the deadbolt unit which is powered by 4 AA batteries. The Lockitron base station however does not function without power or web based access. But the door can still be locked and unlocked using the included set of keys and key fob.
